Covid 19 positive cases reported at Lartebiokorshie

Assembly man for Lartebiokorshie electoral area – Mr Muntar Wahab

The assembly man for Lartebiokorshie electoral area, Mr Muntari Wahab has said in an interview with Ay Offycial that, there have been 2 positive covid 19 cases reported within his electoral area which were traced through contact tracing.

The affected persons are said to be recovering at an isolation centre whiles persons they have come into contact with internally in the electoral area have tested negative to covid 19 with other external contacts still being traced for further testing.

Mr Muntari said, although covid 19 is highly unpreventable, his team are embarking on door to door education on personal hygiene, the proper use of sanitizers, the need to wear face masks, the need to observe social distancing and the need of avoiding crowded places.

With veronica buckets being provided at various vantage points within the electoral area and at all vending points,  the Lartebiokorshie electoral area is fighting  strongly to combat and avoid the spread covid 19.


Mr Muntari explains that, aside taking precautionary measures and educating persons living within his electoral area, there are external collaboration with all political and community leaders in Ablekuma Central Municipality that aids them to move in teams to various communities in the Ablekuma Central Constituency to thoroughly educate and intensify campaigns against covid 19.


He further stated that, during the initial partial lockdown era , the various assembly men were tasked with distribution of cooked food and all disadvantageous areas within his electoral area such as Town-council line area, Flamingo area,  IBE area , Salvation area , Lartebiokorshie 1 J.H.S area, the Banku junction area among others benefited from the daily shared cooked foods and although the food quantity wasn’t enough, there is still the intention of distributing more uncooked food items and other relief items to persons that needs them most.


While some Muslim leaders are pleading to the Ghana government to allow Muslims to observe prayers for the last 10 days of Ramadan, the assembly man for Lartebiokorshie electoral explains that, there is a higher risk of people abusing such privilege which might tend to disrupt all the safety measures put in place and rather entreats all Muslims to adhere to protocols given by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and observe prayers including Lailatul kadeer at home with an immediate family whiles ensuring social distancing.


When asked if there is a possible cancellation of this year’s  Eidul – Fitr , Mr Wahab noted that, Eidul Fitr prayers will not be cancelled but it will be observed solemnly and quietly with due protocols and the usual after Eid celebrations will rather not come on due to the ban on social gathering


Meanwhile, Mr Wahab is urging the general public, especially persons living within his electoral area not to panic while ensuring the laid down protocols as he is working hard to ensure that every single person living within Lartebokorkoshie Electoral Area gets the needed education on covid 19 whiles ensuring that covid 19 tests are done frequently to fish out possible positive cases.

Although covid 19 has diverted the attention of every economy and businesses, Mr Wahab had advised all persons to keep a clean environment and adhere to laid down protocols.
